
T-Mobile operator together with Garmin announced new smartphone featuring impressive navigation capabilities. T-Mobile Garminfone is a version of Garmin Nuvifone A50. It runs on Google Android 1.6 operating system and is equipped with 3.5 inch capacitive multi-touch capable screen with 320x480px resolution, 3 Mp camera with autofocus, 4 Gb built-in storage, microSD memory card slot (up to 32 Gb), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, accelerometer digital compass, GPS module. The battery has 1150 mAh capacity and provides up to 3 hours of talk time or 250 hours of idle one. Naturally though the Garminfone’s speciality is the fully-functioning navigation features which include driving, walking and public transportation directions – whether in or out of network coverage. There’s the option of using lane guidance when driving too. It also includes several pre-installed Garmin apps that provide info on local petrol prices, real-time traffic, weather, local events and movie listings. There is no information about price. The release will take place in next few weeks.
