Five new Archos Android devices

Yesterday Archos unleashed its five new devices. Some of them can be ascribed to PMPs with 2.8- and 3.2-inch screens, others belong to tablets class. Nevertheless all of them are powered by Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo mobile operating system.

Archos 101 Android tablet

Archos 101 is the most advanced device from new devices line. It features 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor that provides HD video (720p) and 3D content playback. Other specifications of this tablet include 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen with 1024×600px resolution, 8GB or 16GB internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VGA camera, HDMI output. Archos 101 will become available in October and will cost $300.

Archos 70 Android tablet

In contrast to Archos 101 this Android tablet has smaller screen – 7 inch capacitive display with 800×480px resolution, 8GB NAND flash storage or 250GB hard drive. It is also know that Archos 70 has 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP supports, HDMI output. This device will be also launched in October but will less than Archos 101 - $275.

Archos 43 Android tablet

Archos 43 has 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 4.3 inch resistive touch screen with 480×854px resolution, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MicroSD external memory card slot, accelerometer, 3.5mm headphones jack, HDMI interface, 3MP camera that supports HD video (720p) recording support. Archos 43 will be release in the first half of October. The price is 199.

Archos 32 Android tablet

Archos 32 is much closer to portable media players than other three devices. It is equipped with 3.2 inch resistive touch screen with 400×240px resolution, 800MHz processor, 0.3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi, 8 GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot, 3.5mm headphones jack. Archos 32 Android tablet will be released in September and will cost $150.

 

Archos 28 Android tablet

The specifications of Archos 28 are very similar. It has the same processor, but has no camera and Bluetooth modules. The screen has 2.8 inch diagonal (not 3.2). This tablet also has 4 GB internal storage, microSD card slot (up to 16 GB). This device will be available for $100. It release is expected to be in next few weeks.

Today Motorola officially announced its new communicator. Motorola Milestone 2 is horizontal slider with full QWERTY keyboard. This new mobile device is powered by Google’s Android 2.2 operating system and supports Adobe Flash technology. Another feature of this smartphone is 3G Mobile HotSpot function. That means that the Milestone 2 can be used as hotspot for other Wi-Fi devices. As for technical characteristics it is know that this high-end mobile device supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, HSDPA 900/2100 MHz networks and is equipped with 3.7 inch capacitive multitouch capable screen with 480×854px resolution, 1 GHz TI OMAP3620-1000 processor, 512 Mb RAM, 512 Mb ROM, 8 GB internal storage, MicroSD external memory card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS with A-GPS support, accelerometer, motion sensor, 3.5mm headphones jack. The battery of this smartphone has 1390 mAh capacity and provides about 9 hours of talk time or up to 315 hours of idle. The dimensions are 116.3×60.5×13.7mm, the weight is 169g. Motorola Milestone 2 will become available in the 4th quarter of 2010. No word about price.

Korean KT mobile operator has just released its tablet computer. KT Identity Tab has been already available for $251 or for free with two-year contract. This device runs on Google Android 2.1 operating system and is positioned as good solution for web surfing, e-books reading, music and video playback. As for technical specifications this Android tablet is based on 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and is equipped with 7 inch touch screen with multitouch technology support, 8 GB internal storage, SD external memory card slot, 3 Mp camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DMB-TB TV tuner, HDMI output, accelerometer.

Samsung Galaxy Tab: new leaked photos

Some sources have already published some ‘live’ photos of coming Samsung’s tablet computer. It is know that this mobile computer is powered by Google’s Android 2.2 operating system and is equipped with 7 inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 1024×600px resolution, PowerVR SGX540 graphics accelerator, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, FM radio, GPS, 3G module, cardreader, 3.5mm headphones jack, two cameras – 0.3 Mp frontal webcam and 3.2 Mp camera on the back side. It is also said that Samsung Galaxy Tab supports DivX and HD video playback.

Samsung launched its new smartphone with built-in pico projector. Users can use this projector to project multimedia content from their phones from 5- to 50-inches in size. Besides Samsung Galaxy Beam runs on Google Android 2.1 operating system and features 3.7 inch Super AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution, 8 Mp camera with LED flash, frontal VGA camera for video calls, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS. It is also notable that this smartphone comes with TouchWiz 3.0 user interface. The battery has 1800 mAh capacity and provides about 7 hour of talk time. Samsung Galaxy Beam measures 123×59.8×14.9mm and weights 155g.

The first information about this Google’s project appeared in May. But Google has already almost made it a reality. According to Engadget FCC has just approved Logitech Revue that is Google TV companion box. According to Google its new service will combine the TV with potential of Internet. There is no official information about its specifications. But it is known that this device is based on 1.2 GHz Intel CE4100 processor, runs on Android OS and is equipped with hard drive, Wi-Fi, HDMI output, USB 2.0 port. It is expected that Google TV service will be launched by the end of coming autumn.

Acer announces its two new smartphones

Acer has just officially announced its two coming smartphones that were first shown at Computes 2010 exhibition.

Acer beTouch E120

Acer beTouch E120 is powered by Google’s Android 1.6 operating system and supports GSM/UMTS networks. It is equipped with 416 MHz ST Ericsson PNX6715 processor, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, MicroSD external memory card slot (up to 32 GB), 2.8 inch resistive touch screen with 240×320px resolution, 3.2 Mp camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, digital compass, accelerometer, FM radio, 3.5 mm headphones jack, 1500 mAh battery. The dimensions of this smartphone is 104.5×54x13mm, the weight is 105g.

Acer beTouch E130

In contrast to the E120 Acer beTouch E130 has QWERTY keyboard. It also runs on Android operating system (but we don’t have information about its version). In other respects the specifications of this smartphone is identical the E120’ one. The only exclsion is a screen of that has 2.6 inch diagonal. Acer beTouch E130 measures 115×62.5×11.5mm and weights 109g. It is expected that both these Android smartphones will become available in August.

It is positioned as affordable high-end mobile device designed for younger audience. It is also know that LG Ally runs on Google Android 2.1 operating system and is equipped with 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7627 processor, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM 3.2 inch capacitive multi-touch screen with 480×800px resolution, 3.2 Mp camera with autofocus and flash, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, GPS, 3.5mm headphones jack. Supported network standards are CDMA/1xEV-DO rev.A 800/1900 MHz. The dimensions are 115.8×56.4×15.7mm, the weight is 157.9g. LG Ally will be released in a week and will cost $100 with two-year contract.
