New thin Lenovo’s tablet – IdeaTab S2109

Today Lenovo showed its new tablet computer featuring 8.9mm Unibody case and 9.7-inch IPS touchscreen with 1024x768px resolution. Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is based on a dual-core TI OMAP chip. The tablet has 1GB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, front-facing 1.3MP camera, MicroSD card slot, microHDMI. The battery provides about 10 working hours. The device is expected to become available in the beginning of June.

Toshiba Excite 10 LE ultrathin tablet

Toshiba has just announced its new tablet computer to become available in US and Europe. The main feature of Toshiba Excite 10 LE is 7.6mm body and low weight – 540g. in other respects it is quite usual high-end class tablet. It is based on 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb that soon will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The device is equipped with 10.1-cin inch IPS touchscreen with 1280x800px resolution, 1GB RAM, 8MP camera supporting 1080p video recording. In US Toshiba Excite 10 LE with 16GB internal storage costs $570, the version with 32GB memory is sold for $645.


LG Optimus Vu 5-inch smartphone

LG’s marketers decided not to wait until Mobile World Congress 2012 exhibition and yesterday LG announced LG Optimus Vu. The device seems to be a rival of Samsung Galaxy Note. This smartphone features 5-inch IPS touchscreen with 1024x768px resolution and 1.5GHz dual-core processor. LG Optimus Vu has 8MP AF camera with LED flash, 32GB internal storage, Wi-Fi, HDMI output, 2080mAh battery. The device supports LTE networks, Wi-Fi Direct and DNLA technologies. The dimensions are 140x90x8.5mm, the weight is 168g. At present moment the device runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but LG promises to release Android 4.0 ICS update in next few months. LG Optimus Vu will be released in March.

LG Optimus Pad LTE

LG Electronics has just announced its next Optimus Pad series device. This tablet also has 8.9-inch IPS touchscreen with 1280x768px resolution but its list of specifications differs from the first generation device’s one. LG Optimus Pad LTE is based on 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (but not on NVIDIA Tegra 2), supports fourth generation networks and has 32GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot, HDMI output, 8MP camera, 2MP front-facing camera for video calls, 6800mAh battery. The operating system is Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime – the first Tegra 3 tablet

Today ASUS officially announced Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet that is the world’s first device based on NVIDIA Tegra 3 system-on-chip. Like its predecessor, original Eee Pad Transformer, this tablet comes with a doc-station transforming this device to a netbook. The tablet runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb but ASUS promises to release Android Ice Cream Sandwich update in next few weeks.


ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime is equipped with 10.1-inch 1280x800px Super IPS+ touchscreen with Gorilla Glass, 1GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot, 8MP camera with LED flash, front-facing 1.2MP camera for video calls, 3.5mm headphones jack, microHDMI output, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, gyroscope, light sensor.

In US ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime with 32GB memory will cost about $500, 64GB version will be sold for $600. The doc-station is equipped with USB port, cardreader, additional battery and will be sold separately for $150.

Samsung Galaxy Note video

Samsung Galaxy Note will become available in next few days. To arouse potential buyers’ enthusiasm Samsung published the first commercial video showing some unique functions of this coming device.

Samsung Galaxy Note is a hybrid of a smartphone and a tablet. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features 5.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with 1280x800px resolution, 1.4GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP camera supporting Full HD video recording, 2500mAh battery, and stylus. There are also such modules as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, accelerometer, MicroSD card slot, 3.5mm headphones jack.

New Lenovo’s Android tablet

Lenovo has just released its new tablet that was not even announced. The list of specifications of Lenovo LePad A1-07 is quite typical for middle-level tablets. It is based on 1GHz Texas Instruments OMAP 3622 processor and runs on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The tablet has 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1024x600px resolution, 512MB RAM, 16GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, two cameras – 3MP sensor on the back side and 0.3MP webcam, GPS, 3550mAh battery that provides up to 7 hours of work time. The dimensions are 195x125x11.95mm, the weight is 400g. The price of Lenovo LePad A1-07 is $390.

Acer released Iconia Tab A100 tablet

At last Acer started shipping of its Iconia Tab A100 platform. A version of this tablet with 8GB internal storage costs $330 while 16GB version is sold for $350. Acer Iconia Tab A100 is based on NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform and runs on Google Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. The tablet is equipped with 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1024x600px resolution, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera, 2MP webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroSD external memory card slot, HDMI output, microUSB port, 3.5mm headphones jack. The battery of this device has 1530mAh capacity and provides about 5 hours of work time. The dimensions are 195х117х12.7mm, the weight is 420g.

Dell Streak 10 Pro Android Honeycomb tablet

Today Dell introduced its first tablet computer running on Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system. Like many other tablets of such class Dell Streak 10 Pro is based on NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform and is equipped with 10-inch 1280х800px capacitive touchscreen with Gorilla Glass protective covering, 1GB RAM, two cameras – 2MP front-facing webcam and 5MP sensor on the back side, external memory card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB port. The battery of this tablet provides about 12 hours of work time. In next few weeks a version of Dell Streak 10 Pro with 16GB internal storage will become available in China for $465.

Archos showed its two coming high-end tablets

Together with its budget-class tablet Archos also announced two high-end devices. Archos 80 G9 and Archos 101 G9 have the same list of specifications, the only exclusion is that the 80 G9 has 8-inch screen with 1024x768px resolution while the 101 G9 is equipped with 10.1-inch capacitive display with 1280x800px resolution.

Both these tablets run on Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb and have 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4 processor, 16GB internal flash storage, 250GB thin Seagate Momentus hard drive, MicroSD external memory card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, front-facing camera, USB port, HDMI output.

The producer will also offer optional 3G module that is designed specifically for these tablets and after the installation is almost merges with the body. Archos 80 G9 will cost $280 while Archos 101 G9 will be available for $350. The release will take place in the beginning of September.
