
Motorola has just introduced its new mobile phone featuring rugged case. Motorola WILDER is an entry level touchphone in water, dust, scratch, shock resistant body. The phone also features two displays – 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen with 240x360px resolution and 0.7-inch OLED display showing service information including time, battery and cell signal level. Other specifications of this mobile device are 2MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1, 5MB internal storage, FM radio, 3.5mm headphones jack, MicroSD external memory card slot (up to 32GB). The battery has 910mAh capacity and provides about 10 hours of talk time or 11 days of standby one. The list of pre-installed software includes client apps providing quick access to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube. Motorola WILDER will become available in July and will cost $82.
Today Nokia unleashed its two new entry level mobile phones – C2-01 and X2-01. Both these device are positioned as a combination of affordable price and good functionality.

Nokia C2-01 is the cheapest Nokia’s phone with third generation networks support. It is based on Series 40 platform and is equipped with 2-inch display, 3.2MP camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, MicroSD external memory card slot (up to 16GB cards are supported). The phone measures 110x47x15.3mm and weights 89g. The release will take place in the first quarter of 2011. The price is expected to be about EUR70.

Nokia X2-01 is a monoblock with full QWERTY keyboard. It is designed for those people who actively use social networks and chatting services. It has 2.4-inch display with 320x240px resolution, VGA camera, MicroSD external memory card slot (up to 8GB), Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphones jack. The dimensions are 119х60х14.3mm, the weight is 108g. Nokia X2-01 will be released by the end of 2010 and will cost about EUR80.
Together with Nokia E7 Finnish giant of mobile industry announced other two new smartphones – Nokia C6-01 and Nokia C7-00. Both of them are monoblock devices and run on new Symbian^3 mobile operating system.

In contrast to its predecessor (Nokia C6) Nokia C6-01 has no QWERTY keyboard, runs on latest version of Symbian OS and has better list of specifications. This mobile device supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz networks and is equipped with 3.2 inch polarized capacitive AMOLED touch screen with 360x640px resolution, 8MP camera with double LED flash and HD video (720p) recording support, 0.3MP camera for video calls, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, FM radio, 3.5mm headphones jack, 340MB internal storage, MicroSD external memory card slot.

The list of technical specifications of Nokia C7 includes GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz networks, 3.5 inch capacitive AMOLED touch screen with 360x640px resolution, 8MP camera with double LED flash and HD video (720p) recording support, 350Mn internal storage, 8GB built-in flash memory, MicroSD external memory card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, FM radio with transmitter, microUSB port. Both Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 smartphones will become available in November. Unfortunately there is no information about price.

This smartphone has been just officially announced at IFA 2010 exhibition. In spite of the fact that Huawei IDEOS belongs to entry-level smartphones class it runs on the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system – Android 2.2 Froyo. As for technical specifications this mobile device supports third generation networks and features 528MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS module, MicroSD external memory card slot. Huawei IDEOS will first become available in Europe. Depending on the region the price will range from EUR100 to EUR130.

Today Motorola officially announced its new communicator. Motorola Milestone 2 is horizontal slider with full QWERTY keyboard. This new mobile device is powered by Google’s Android 2.2 operating system and supports Adobe Flash technology. Another feature of this smartphone is 3G Mobile HotSpot function. That means that the Milestone 2 can be used as hotspot for other Wi-Fi devices. As for technical characteristics it is know that this high-end mobile device supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, HSDPA 900/2100 MHz networks and is equipped with 3.7 inch capacitive multitouch capable screen with 480x854px resolution, 1 GHz TI OMAP3620-1000 processor, 512 Mb RAM, 512 Mb ROM, 8 GB internal storage, MicroSD external memory card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS with A-GPS support, accelerometer, motion sensor, 3.5mm headphones jack. The battery of this smartphone has 1390 mAh capacity and provides about 9 hours of talk time or up to 315 hours of idle. The dimensions are 116.3×60.5×13.7mm, the weight is 169g. Motorola Milestone 2 will become available in the 4th quarter of 2010. No word about price.


Virgin Media officially announced new budget mobile device that will become available in its shops. Alcatel VM202 is nice looking horizontal slider with both alphanumeric and QWERTY keyboard. The list of specifications includes GSM 900/1800 MHz networks, TFT screen with 240x320px resolution, 0.3 Mp camera, Bluetooth, FM radio, 4 Mb internal storage, MicroSD external memory card slot. The battery has 650 mAh capacity and provides about 9 hour of talk time or 450 hours of idle. The dimensions are 109x51x16.5mm, the weight is 109g. The price of Alcatel VM202 is £30.

Samsung launched its new smartphone with built-in pico projector. Users can use this projector to project multimedia content from their phones from 5- to 50-inches in size. Besides Samsung Galaxy Beam runs on Google Android 2.1 operating system and features 3.7 inch Super AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution, 8 Mp camera with LED flash, frontal VGA camera for video calls, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS. It is also notable that this smartphone comes with TouchWiz 3.0 user interface. The battery has 1800 mAh capacity and provides about 7 hour of talk time. Samsung Galaxy Beam measures 123×59.8×14.9mm and weights 155g.

Acer has just officially announced its two coming smartphones that were first shown at Computes 2010 exhibition.

Acer beTouch E120 is powered by Google’s Android 1.6 operating system and supports GSM/UMTS networks. It is equipped with 416 MHz ST Ericsson PNX6715 processor, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, MicroSD external memory card slot (up to 32 GB), 2.8 inch resistive touch screen with 240x320px resolution, 3.2 Mp camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, digital compass, accelerometer, FM radio, 3.5 mm headphones jack, 1500 mAh battery. The dimensions of this smartphone is 104.5x54x13mm, the weight is 105g.

In contrast to the E120 Acer beTouch E130 has QWERTY keyboard. It also runs on Android operating system (but we don’t have information about its version). In other respects the specifications of this smartphone is identical the E120’ one. The only exclsion is a screen of that has 2.6 inch diagonal. Acer beTouch E130 measures 115×62.5×11.5mm and weights 109g. It is expected that both these Android smartphones will become available in August.

AT&T mobile operator has just launched new Pantech P9020 Pursuit. It is compact QWERTY slider designed for chatting and social networks lovers. It is notable that this device supports some kind of multi-tasking – there is special button to minimize running applications. This phone supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS 850/1900 MHz networks and is equipped with 2.8 inch resistive touch screen with 240x320px resolution, 2 Mp camera, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, microSD external memory card slot (up to 32 GB). The battery has 930 mAh capacity and provides about 6 hour of talk time. The dimensions of this mobile device are 93x64x15mm, the weight is 130g. The price of Pantech Pursuit is $50 with two-year contract.
