Nokia has just announced its budget class smartphone. Nokia C5 is the first mobile device from new Nokia’s Cseries line. It has monoblock shape and runs on Symbian S60 3rd edition operating system. One of the notable features of this device is contact list. It provides an opportunity to check view the status of friends in popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter. You can also change your status in Facebook, adding to information about your location using Ovi Maps 3.0. The main phone screen displays the three most used contacts. This widget allows you to call these people or send them a message via Google Talk or Windows Live Messenger.
The list of technical characteristics looks good – 2.2 inch screen with 240×320 px resolution and 16 million colors, 3.2 Mp camera with flash, FM radio with RDS, 50 Mb built-in storage, microSD memory card slot (up to 16 Gb), 3.5 mm audio jack, GPS with A-GPS support. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0. Supported network standards are GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA 900/2100 MHz. This smartphone measures 112×46x12.3 mm and weights 89g. Nokia C5 will become available in April and will cost €135.

During Mobile World Congress 2010 Samsung showed its new flagship device. Samsung S8500 Wave is the world’s first mobile device running on Bada platform. Other remarkable features of this device are its 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and 3.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 800×480 px resolution and 16 million colors. Samsung Wave also features unique user interface that resembles TouchWiz and combines best solutions of competing mobile platforms. For example there is sliding panel that allows you to manage wireless connections. As for other characteristics this high-end device has 5 Mp camera with autofocus and HD video (1280х720px, 30 fps) recording support, 2 or 8 Gb built-in storage, microSD/HC memory card slot, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, GPS module and 3.5 headphones jack, The dimensions are 118×56x11 mm. The battery has 1500 mAh capacity and provides 100 hours of music playback. Samsung S8500 Wave will become available in May and will cost about $550.

Samsung M100S runs on Android 2.1

This communicator will become available in South Korea next month. It is first company’s device running on Google Android 2.1 operating system added with TouchWiz user interface. Samsung M100S is equipped with 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen with WVGA resolution, 800 MHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, GPS, T-DMB TV tuner, GPS, 5 Mp camera with HD video (720p) recording support, 3.5 mm audio jack and microSD memory card slot. Unfortunately there is no word about European and US release date.

Coming HTC Trophy QWERTY communicator

The first information about this phone appeared some weeks ago. It is expected that it will be officially announced at Mobile World Congress 2010 and will become available by the end of the March. In contrast to other latest HTC’s communicators this one has physical QWERTY keyboard. HTC Trophy runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and has 3 inch touch screen with 640×480 px resolution, 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, 256 Mb RAM, 5 Mp camera with autofocus, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3.5 mm audio jack. To all appearances HTC Trophy belongs to middle class device and will cost about $300.

It is not a secret anymore that HTC is developing HTC Obsession communicator that will be the world’s first device running on Windows Mobile 7 operating system. Now we have some photos of this remarkable device. As for hardware characteristics HTC Obsession will have 1 GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 CPU, 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive screen with 480×800 px resolution and multi-touch support, 5 Mp camera with autofocus and flash, 0.3 Mp camera for video calls, 512 Mb RAM, 512 Mb ROM, 4 GB flash memory, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, GPS, accelerometer and 3.5 mm audio jack. The battery has 1230 mAh capacity and provides up to 10 hours of talk time and 7 hours of video playback. The dimensions of the case are 112×56x11.7 mm. According to some sources the Obsession will be released as HTC Touch Diamond 3.

According to pocketnow.com Microsoft is going to introduce Windows Mobile 7 on Mobile World Congress 2010 exhibition that will take place in February. The first device running on new operating system will be LG Apollo. This communicator will feature 10 Mp camera with HD video (1280х720) recording support and 3.8 inch touch AMOLED screen with multi-touch technology support (WM7 will support multi-touch). It is also said LG Apollo will have 1.3 GHz Qualcomm QSD8650 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 1 GB ROM, microSD memory card slot (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth modules.

During CES 2010 Chinese Lenovo company demonstrated its first Android phone – Lenovo LePhone. This high-powered device features Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz CPU, 3.7 inch touch screen with 480×800 px resolution, 3 Mp camera, 0.3 Mp camera for video calls, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, GPS and microSD memory card slot. Another distinguishing feature is snap-on accessory keyboards. This Android based device is expected to become available in next few months.

The first information about first Google’s phone appeared some months ago. Today it was confirmed and we have the list of characteristics and some photos of this coming device. Google Nexus One is produced by HTC and runs on Android 2.1 operating system. Other characteristics of HTC Bravo also look good – 320 Mb RAM, 512 Mb ROM, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, GPS, digital compass, proximity sensor, 3.5 mm audio jack and 1400 mAh battery. It is expected that this headset will become available in the beginning of the spring. Unfortunately there is no information about price.

HP together with AT&T officially announced iPAQ Glisten communicator. It has classic shape factor and is equipped with 2.5 inch AMOLED touch screen and QWERTY keyboard. The list of hardware specifications includes Qualcomm 7200A 528 MHz CPU, 3.1 Mp camera with 5x digital zoom, 256 Mb RAM, 512 Mb ROM, microSD memory card support (up to 32 Gb), Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, A-GPS, 1590 mAh battery and 3.5 mm audio jack. The operating system is Windows Mobile 6.5. HP iPAQ Glisten measures 112.8 х 62.8 х 13.4 mm, and weights 132 g./This device will become available in AT&T operator’s shops in next few weeks and will cost $230 with two-year contract.
