
ZTE Skate seems to be a good alternative for those users who would like to have high-end smartphone but can’t afford devices by such vendors as HTC, Samsung, Motorola and LG. At first it was shown at Mobile World Congress 2011 exhibition but at that time the producer didn’t share its price and release date. But Greek Digital Life source has just revealed this information. ZTE Skate will become available in June for EUR250.

ZTE Skate runs on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and is based on Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset that includes 800MHz processor and Adreno 200 graphics accelerator. It is equipped with 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen with 480x800px resolution, 5MP AF camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio with RDS, accelerometer, 3.5mm headphones jack, MicroSD external memory cards slot.

HP Veer announced some month ago will be released on May, 15. At first it will be available only for AT&T customers for $100 with two-year contract. This tiny (84x55x15.1mm) device is a vertical slider with full QWERTY keyboard. It runs on WebOS 2.1 operating system and is equipped with 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor, 2.6-inch multi-touch capable screen with 320x400px resolution, 5MP camera, 8GB internal storage, accelerometer, 3.5mm headphones jack, proximity and light sensors. The battery of this HP Veer provides about 5 hours of talk time or 12 days of standby one. It is notable that this smartphone supports Flash.

ViewSonic has just started shipping of its new tablet computer. ViewSonic ViewPad 10s is based on NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform that includes 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Google Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. The tablet is equipped with 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1024x600px resolution, 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, microSD external memory card slot, 1.3MP front-facing webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI output, USB port, stereo loud speakers, accelerometer. The dimensions are 276x179x14.5mm, the weight is 730g. The battery of this device provides about 6 hours of work time. In Europe ViewSonic ViewPad 10s will cost EUR299. A version with 3G module will cost EUR99 more.
In next few weeks Sony Ericsson will release an heir of Xperia X10 mini pro smartphone. This device has not been officially announced yet but we already have its live photos and list of specifications. Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro 2 is a sliding QWERTY smartphone running on Google Android 2.3.3 operating system. At China Consumer Electronics Fair exhibition EraThink Technologies company have just demonstrated quite unusual mobile device. EraThink EraPalm is a pocket computer running on Windows 7 operating system. The shape factor of mini-computer is very close to game console’s one. It has sliding screen and full QWERTY keyboard under it. EraThink EraPalm is based on Intel Atom Z series platform and is equipped with 5-inch capacitive touch screen with 800x480px resolution, 1Gb or 2GB RAM, 16/32/64GB SSD, Wi-Fi, 3G module, GPS, USB port, VGA and HDMI outputs. Unfortunately no word about exact release date and price.

The design of this device by BEON Electronics bears a strong resemblance to the style of HTC’s smartphones. But in contrast to many other Chinese clones this one is a real smartphone. BEON TS007 runs on Google Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and features not bad set of specifications – 624MHz Marvell pxa935 processor, 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480x800px resolution, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, 5MP camera. There also such usual for present-day smartphones modules as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microSD external memory card slot, GPS, 1.3MP front-facing webcam, 3.5mm headphones jack. The device measures 124х67х12.8mm and weights 150g. BEON TS007 has been already available in some online shops.

Today at CTIA Wireless 2011 exhibition Taiwanese HTC company showed its new smartphone that will be sold by American Sprint mobile operator. The main feature of HTC EVO 3D is an ability to create and play 3D content. It has two 5MP cameras supporting HD (720p) video recording and 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with 540x960px resolution. It is notable that to view 3D content users don’t need any glasses.

Other specifications include 1.2GHz processor by Qualcomm, 1.3MP front-facing webcam, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, MicroSD external memory card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, digital compass, accelerometer, 3.5mm headphones jack, 1730mAh battery. HTC EVO 3D will become available this summer. No word about price.
